The Amy Winehouse Foundation is suing a piano seller, demanding that Ronen Segev of Park Avenue Pianos hand over a signed grand piano. The charity maintains that they paid $20,000 for the 1916 Steinway Grand Model M piano.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation auctioned off the piano at its Inspiration Awards Gala back in March of 2013. The instrument was sold along with another piano signed by Billy Joel.

Segev has resisted handing over the piano once the winning bidder failed to produce the cash for the instrument. The foundation contends that they have already paid Segev for the piano and thus should be given the instrument.

Tony Bennett signed the piano in question. Both Bennett and Winehouse recorded a duet together titled, “Body and Soul,” according to the court documents.

The foundation formed when Winehouse died of alcoholism in 2011. The charity targets vulnerable youth with the help of music therapy programs.
