Guatemala Ships McAfee Back to the United States

John McAfee, who was taken into custody in Guatemala for entering the country illegally was put on a plane to Miami on December 12th, where he was met by federal officials. The former anti-virus software pioneer has been wanted for questioning in the murder of his next-door neighbor in Belize since he fled the country in November.

McAfee avoided authorities in Guatemala by disguising his identity. When he was discovered and arrested, he was hospitalized for a mild nervous breakdown. The Guatemalan police determined it was best to return McAfee to his home country. He is currently retaining a lawyer’s services in the United States, and will lobby for a visa for his 22 year old girlfriend in Belize to join him in America.
