Hearing Date Set for Lindsay Lohan

A & E Network's 2012 Upfront

Lindsay Lohan is accused of violating her probation in a jewelry theft case with several other alleged misdemeanors including lying to an officer about driving her Porshe, the reckless driving that caused the accident, and hitting a woman in a night club. Prosecutors from Santa Monica, where the crash occurred, and Los Angeles, where the jewelry theft occurred, attended the hearing and asked the judge to revoke Lohan’s probation. Lohan chose to use her right to skip the hearing.  Her lawyer Shawn Holley represented her, and denied that Lindsay violated the terms of her probation. The judge set a January 15th hearing to determine if Lohan violated her probation, and to set a trial date for the other charges.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Jane Godfrey will rule on the probation charges, and can settle on a guilty verdict with only the determination that Lohan violated the rules Judge Stephanie Sautner put in place when ordering the probation. Her ruling would stand even if in a trial, Lohan is acquitted of the charges.
