Lindsay Lohan was in a car accident in June on the Pacific Coast Highway in the state of California, when her Porsche rear-ended an 18-wheeler truck. The star gave a statement to the police on the scene denying that she was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. However, several witnesses provided statements to the contrary, and now Lohan is being charged with lying to the police.
If she is convicted under these charges it is a direct violation of the L.A. probation mandate she has been under since her necklace theft case in 2011. Lindsay avoided potential drug charges in the matter when police found prescription pills in her purse and trunk after police received evidence they were prescribed lawfully. If she is convicted of the lying charges, the actress could serve jail time.
