NFL to Pay $765M in Concussion Lawsuits

The NFL is known for its rather violent games, and it’s no surprise that the league has faced thousands of lawsuits from injured former players. Many of said players developed concussion-related brain disorders as a result of physical trauma and hoped to receive some kind of financial aid for long term care, therapy and more.

The NFL is settling the case at $765M, extending to 4,500 retired players and 18,000 deceased NFL Players’ spouses. Within that number, $75M will be set aside for medical exams and $10M will be set aside for medical research, according to NBC.
