Legal experts are saying that the Laker could lose half his worth if soon to be ex-wife Vanessa Bryant never signed a prenuptial agreement.
According to attorney Christopher C. Melcher, Vanessa Bryant would have only been entitled to some property rights and spousal support if she had signed. After the couple married in 2011, Vanessa’s mother told The Times they did not sign one.
In addition, California law allots Vanessa even more rights for her 10-year marriage; once a marriage enters its 10th year it’s considered lengthy, so the spouse reserves the right to continue the same standing of living.
Experts estimate that Bryant’s net worth is $150 million, meaning his ex-wife will most likely get $75 million as well as spousal and child support.
