Obama Speaks: Changing Perceptions of Mental Health

President Obama joined Kathleen Sebelius, Health and Human Services Secretary, to speak about national ideas of mental illness at the National Conference on Mental Health this week.

Celebrities like Bradley Cooper (who learned a lot about mental illness when he played his role in “Silver Linings Playbook) and Glenn Close were in attendance alongside Vice President Biden, Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki and Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

Daily News reports that the conference is the kickoff to a new public service campaign to reduce the stigma around mental illness.
