Sacha Baron Cohen has agreed to settle a lawsuit over a scene in his film Bruno.
In the film, Cohen’s title character interviews a Palestinian grocer. On the cut line of the graphic below the man he was labeled, “Terrorist group leader, Al-Aqsa Martyrs brigade.”
The actual grocer, Ayman Abu Alta, says he subsequently was on the receiving end of death threats, thus he filed a $110 million lawsuit against Cohen.
No word on the terms of the settlement, which remain confidential. Ayman’s attorney says the suit was
settled “to the mutual satisfaction” of all parties.
