NBA player Tony Parker is suing a New York nightclub over injuries he sustained in a fight in which he wasn’t one of the combatants.
Earlier this month, Parker was in the W.i.P club at the same time
as music stars Chris Brown and Drake. After an exchange, Brown and Drake had a physical altercation supposedly stemming from a feud over pop star Rihanna.
During the brawl, Parker was hit in the head with a bottle and suffered a scratched cornea. The injury could force Parker to withdraw from representing his native France on the Olympic basketball team.
Now, Parker is suing the club for his injuries. In the suit, he claims that the club had a responsibility to provide security to keep patrons safe. Legal observers say the club may try to defend
itself by arguing that the brawl was an unforeseen event.
The suit is asking for $20 million in damages.
